In its 44 year history Olympic High School has never had to deal with the loss of such caring and talented individuals because of budget cutbacks. Due to budget problems and layoffs, Olympic has had to say goodbye to Nicola James and Kat Marzel who will be moving on to other schools next year. Never have two individuals shown more of the Olympic spirit necessary for the success of our students. It is so unfortunate that because of seniority issues and teacher movement in the district that these two wonderfully talented and caring teachers will not be returning next year. Those students who came in contact with them have all profited from their vision, wisdom and sensitivity and will forever be better off for having met them. You will both be missed!
