On an absolutely beautiful spring day, students of Olympic High School celebrated a very special Memorial Day with a ceremony dedicated to remembering those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their country. While it has become a tradition at Olympic to honor both Veteran's Day and Memorial Day with a ceremony in front of the school, today was even more special. With family, friends, staff, and the entire student body in attendance, Sgt. Sandra Richardson was honored for her 17 years of service to Olympic High School as our JROTC teacher. The ceremony included naming the Flag Pole in honor of Sgt. Richardson and Sgt. Agee which from this day forward, will be known as Sarges' Pole.
Sgt. Richardson has been a most valued and dedicated member of the Olympic staff and her retirement will leave a big void on our campus. She is a most respected member of our staff and has given so much of herself to make Olympic a great place to work and to attend. Her willingness to go the extra mile and her professionalism are qualities that she exhibits each and every day while maintaining the highest of standards not only for herself, but for her students.
Congratulations Sgt. Richardson for your love and dedication to the students of Olympic High School for the past 17 years.
