Former Olympic Student Expresses Appreciation

Hi Skip!!!

First off, I am soooo happy to see that you are still a part of the staff there at Olympic. The place wouldn't be the same without you. I don't know if you remember me, but I was student there at Olympic. My name is Kendra Leath and I graduated from Olympic in 1995. Anyway, you helped me tremendously when I was a youth - the way that you and the staff respected us kids was unheard off elsewhere back then. When I was there I felt like an equal and I think that's what was so helpful in me succeeding and thriving at Olympic.

I was just telling a friend of mine about the school for her daughter and when I went to the website I stumbled upon my picture. It almost brought tears to my eyes, cause it brought back so many wonderful memories from the 3 years I spent at Olympic. Also, I saw that there was a spot underneath my picture asking for the students name. I wanted to write and tell you all who I am because I am proud of my high school and want people to know that I went to the best!! So if you could please include the name Kendra Leath (I am married now and go by Kendra Marshall) that would be great.

Thank you so much for the enriching experience. Looking forward to hearing back from you!

Kendra Leath Marshall, Class of 1995

Dear Kendra,

Thanks so much for your thoughtful letter.  I can't tell you how much it means to me to hear from you after so many years.  I certainly do remember you and I am glad to hear that you are doing well in your life.  Those of us who have been a part of Olympic, both staff and students, know what a special place it is and always has been.  Letters like yours keep reminding us of all the good work that has gone on here for so many years.

On behalf of the entire staff, past and present, thank you for letting us know that we do make a difference.  I hope to hear from you again soon.

Sincerely,

Skip Weinstock
