JROTC at Olympic

The JROTC program has the mission to “motivate young people to be better citizens”. Classes include leadership, management, goal setting, conflict management, physical training, drill and ceremony. JROTC’s curriculum is geared toward the whole person concept. This consists of academics, as well as physical and mental well being.  Students have opportunities to work with other students through class projects, field trips, ceremonies, and community service projects.

Leadership skills are practiced throughout. Self-esteem and self worth are enhanced via such things as awards and promotions. Olympic JROTC Instructors are Master Sergeant Lila Agee and Capt. Doug Niemela, both of whom are retired from the US Army. They are not recruiters and JROTC is not a recruiting program. It gives our students many chances to excel and grow in a variety of challenges in and out of the classroom.
